Aerial Yoga is a type of air fitness that is practiced in a silk hammock suspended from the ceiling to support your body weight, instead of stretched out across a mat laying on the floor. In a way, it combines elements of the traditional yoga with pilates and gymnastics.
Aerial yoga is a fun way to stay active - the endorphins you get from inversion helps to alleviate stress. Plus, you get a cool insta worthy picture/video.
It is recommended to avoid aerial yoga if you suffer from heart disease, extremely high or low blood pressure, glaucoma or severe arthritis, recently had surgery, any injuries where you are not able to pull yourself up. It is not recommended for pregnant women.
Yes! Please have a light meal 1 or 2 hours prior to class. Class will have inversion poses and is advisable for students to not overeat.
Our equipment can safely support up to 200kg for each hammock.
Self practice is perfect for anyone who wants to get some extra time with aerial equipment they may not have at home. Whether it's an hour before class to warm up on your own, an hour after to go over everything you just learned, or just any any point throughout the week when you want to work on your own skills.
Booking a self practice session is as simple as booking a class - simply head to the booking page, select Self Practice and pick the time that works best for you, as early or late as you want.
Prior to your session you will receive an email with a unique pin code using which you'll be able to enter the studio even if no-one else is there.
Simply come in, choose a pre hung aerial yoga hammock and when you are done, just sanitise the fabric with the spray provided. Don't worry, we wash all our fabrics daily.
Of course if you prefer to use your own fabric, you're more than welcome to use it - simply hang it on the empty daisy chain straps which are already hanging on the ceiling rig.
